The Forest City Sticker

The Forest City Sticker

Regular price $4.00 $0.00

Ah, the Forest City. Most people aren’t aware that Cleveland was formerly dubbed the Forest City. In the late 1830’s, a Frenchman named Alexis de Tocqueville visited the United States to study this weird new form of government called a democracy. In visiting Cleveland, Tocqueville was amazed at the complex city that seemingly came out of nowhere from the forests that surrounded it. From there it gets a bit murky.  William Case (yes, that Case), a horticulturalist and mayor of Cleveland, took on a campaign of tree plantings.  Whether either these characters may or may not have ACTUALLY used the term, they're most certainly the inspiration.

This 4 inch wide sticker is printed on thick, durable vinyl, protecting your sticker from scratches, water and sunlight.
