Cleveland Union Terminal

Cleveland Union Terminal

Regular price $26.00 $0.00

Officially completed in 1930, the 52-story Terminal Tower was the second tallest building in the U.S. The brain-child of the Van Sweringen brothers, the tower was originally conceived as a 14-story office building; designed to top off a new Union Station streetcar terminal that would serve their real estate investment of Shaker Heights. Eventually, they expanded on that vision to contribute the first building of what would become the Tower City Complex, which would became one of the world’s largest excavation projects outside of the Panama Canal. Because of its enormous size and wide array of uses, the tower and complex was called a “City Within a City.”
