Columbus Union Station

Columbus Union Station, the third iteration of course, was an architectural wonder.  Designed after the buildings of the 1892 Chicago World's Fair, it featured a lengthy arcade and SEVERAL arches helping Columbus get one of it's nicknames.  Torn down in 1979, preservationists were able to get an injunction at the 11th hour to save one of the arches which stands now in the Arena District.  If you want to get a sense of what the building looked like, just take a gander at the Cap on High Street; it was modeled after the fallen Union Station.
