Arch Park is actually named McFerson Commons Park after the former Chairman and CEO of Nationwide Insurance, but the ICONIC old Union Station Arch sitting at the focal point gave the park its more common, informal name. This arch was the last remaining remnant from the Union Station when it was demolished overnight. Historic preservationists got a 13th hour court injunction which stopped construction just in time to save this beauty. So, every time you’re feeling thankful that we still have this awe-inspiring piece of our history (and awesome Instagram background), thank a preservationist.
