Founded in 1796, Cleveland was selected as the Capital of the Western Reserve, and named its founder: Moses Cleaveland. That's right, Cleveland was founded as Cleaveland. It wasn't until later that Cleaveland dropped the A. No matter what though, A in the name or not; Cleveland will always be A+ in our book.
