In 1992, Columbus put on an international celebration to mark the 500th anniversary - a quincentennial for those keeping track - of Christopher Columbus "discovering" America. As the first international floral and garden expo in the United States, it was held at Franklin Park Conservatory and drew over 5 MILLION VISITORS. That's one hell of a garden party!
